Entering Competitions

Entering competitions online is a FREE service we have introduced for readers – please note that we are not able to enter into individual correspondence with readers who are experiencing difficulties with entering competitions online. Please leave plenty of time to enter the competition we cannot accept responsibility for late or lost entries.

How to enter the competitions

You must login or register to able to enter competitions. Please click here for details of how to register. Once you have successfully logged in – you will see your user name on the left hand side of the screen, below the main menu. If you cannot see this, you have not yet successfully logged in and will not be able to enter the competitions. Once you have logged in click on the competitions link which is on the left-hand side of the screen (fourth down in the menu options). Click onto the issue you wish to enter – EG issue number 2: 3 January 2008 Use your mouse to click in the answer fields for each question, the active field shows a blue highlighted edge. Type in your answer – it does not matter whether this is in upper or lower case. Do not use the return key to navigate to the answer fields as this will submit your entry, instead again use the mouse and click the field to activate it. You then have an opportunity to double-check your contact details once you’ve answered the questions, correct any mistakes etc. When you are happy simply click the submit button and your entry is registered.

Problems entering competitions?

Have you logged in or registered? You must login or register in order to be able to enter competitions. Your user name will appear in blue on the left hand side of the site if you are successfully logged in. If you cannot see your user name please login.

If you are using an AOL browser and can not enter competitions, we recommend that you download either Internet Explorer or Firefox. Logged in but can’t see the latest competition?

It’s possible that you are viewing a page held in your PC/ Mac’s cache. The cache is a temporary storage area where your internet browser holds frequently accessed data for rapid access re-use, the page loads faster rather than re-fetching or recomputing the original data. Here are instructions of how clear the cache for the 3 most popular Internet Browsers.

  • With Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Delete browsing history, for the Temporary Internet Files option click Delete files.
  • With Safari click on the Safari Menu then the Empty cache option.
  • With FireFox click on the FireFox Menu, then Preferences, click the Advanced Icon, then the Network tab and click on the clear now button for Cache

After you have cleared the cache please type this link in to load a clean page of the that's life Website:- http://www.thatslife.co.uk This will load the home page. Please Login at this point. Your Username will appear in light blue on the left hand side when you are successfully logged in. You will now have full access to the competitions pages.

Clicked the submit button too soon?

Unfortunately as this is a FREE service we cannot accept responsibility for any entries submitted in error. Please therefore submit your entry by one of the alternative routes, ie by post, phone, fax or sms.

Error message appears after entering the competition

From time to time, during periods of peak demand the site may crash – in which case you may receive an error message once you submit the competition. We do apologise for this, but cannot submit entries on behalf of disappointed users. Please wait a while and then try again.
