council housing
i just wanted to make a comment about something i read yesterday that infuriated me. A paedofile had been sent to prison for 9 years for raping and molesting children and some babies and whilst he is in prison he is allowed to keep his council flat until he gets out. Not only is this flat gonna sit there empty for nine years, he will prob rent it out anyway(thats if he serves nine years which i doubt prob be out after 4} He will be allowed to return ther where he molested these children. I have been on the council register since i was 16 im 35 now and still way down the list ive given up on them now and my husband and i work and support ourselves, but we dont qualify for council housing cause we work i was told by local office yet a paedofile can have a property for as long as he needs. well done government and the judge who made it happen i bet you sleep well at night unlike the victims of that awful scum.

Top of the housing list are....
The arguments/rants over the past few years about who is top of the housing list have always been aimed at refugees and asylum seekers. Yet they are not at the top of the list, it is offenders and has been for years.
I have been NFA three times for one unfortunate reason or another (Not of my own making) Even though I am now disabled I am still not a priority. I walked... or should say limped into my local council offices to tell them I had gone from NFA my situation for 18 months to homeless. When asked where I had slept the night before, I told them on a friends sofa. I was told I was not homeless, I had somewhere to stay. I said I was only able to stay there that night and I would be on the street that night if they did not help.
The assistant asked for my friends phone number to prove I had slept there. She called my friend and asked if I could stay again. He said no because he was moving and was overcrowded. The housing assistant said "Are you going to let your friend sleep on the streets tonight"
My friend replied they wouldn't leave me to sleep on the street of course. The housing assistant put the phone down and told me my friend had said I could stay with them, therefore I was not homeless and would not qualify for a hostel until I was sleeping rough.
During my 18 months NFA several inmates in a local prison were released early and all were housed immediately. To add nasty insult to injury they receive up to £2000 re-settlement fee

Council Housing
I completely agree that the pedophile should not be allowed to keep his house whilst he is in prison, but then again, I believe that council houses should be abolished altogether!
Whilst you may think that my opinion is harsh, I do believe that if (i) young wannabe teenage mothers (ii) layabouts (iii) those that use the disability system to their advantage should be made to think of the ramifications of their actions and/or be made to find a job!
Of course, I do understand that there are exceptions to this rule and would hope that there would be a (small) amount of government money allocated to those most in need.

Weeney.
When you spend
Weeney.
When you spend everyday of your life with a painful crippling condtion, which causes all your joints to dislocate forcing you into a wheelchair. Feel free to come back and call me a benefit scrounging, system abuser. Until then keep your ignorant opinions to yourself.
I know far too many people with disabilities who cannot get council or housing association property. This includes a friend who spent three months in hospital after having his second aorta repair. He had to remain in a privately rented house, that was literally falling down around him - He was also refused DLA. If you class us as scroungers I wonder what situation you believe would merit disability benefits.
Or do you honestly think all disabled are scroungers and people like my friend should go out and work, even though he could die doing so.
Just to add both myself and friend look healthy on the outside and people like yourself are apt at assuming we are abusing the system.
It's a good job ignorance isn't classed as a disability, you could abuse the system easily
