crime &punishment

totally agree with you, the country is in a state because the govenment is far too soft. Other countries dont put up with the crime we do. America has death penalty as do there countries. We have far too many do gooders over here who put the rights of the criminal before the rights of the victim. I think if you have harmed another human being your rights should disapear completely. Def bring back national service!

my brother is 18 years old never so much as ahd a parking ticket and is hoping to go off to uni to study law. why should he be made to do national service because of the odd few. bring back capital punishment and the country would soon sort itself out. and with prisons like holiday camps its no surprise we are in such a state. remove computers tvs and radios from prisons ban visits and phone calls and leave them really feel like a prisoner not a guest.

Let's face it the only proper punishment out there now days is "WHEN THE CRIME IS DONE AGAINST THE GOVERMENT" if you upset the so called leaders in anyway espeacially financally then you see tough sentences handed out Because our wonderful goverment puts money above everything else including rape, murder, child abuse etc etc. I say we need to have someone stand up against the current laws and re-write them to fit in with todays crimes.

Your brother is among young men who should be admired it takes the bad ones to pull all the good ones down how sad it is that it never works the other way round. My apologies I didn't mean to upset or offend anyone. How right you are about prisons they are better off in there as you say with all the luxuries but it is mugs like us who pay there "RENT"

My two sons are working and law abiding, they wouldn't dream of hurting defenceless people. My daughter is studying for A levels and wants to go to University and eventually join the forces. I don't want any of them to be forced to join up for National Service because the minority can't behave. If someone is rotten to the core, National Service will just make them rotten and well trained. Sorry, but I can't agree with the people who support capital punishment on the basis that America has it. The USA isn't exactly a crime-free haven.

Bring back National Service? Are these REALLY the kind of persons we want to protect this country and its inhabitants? Those who beat up the elderly and young children, those who attack and persecute others just because they are 'different' are nothing but bullies and would probably run a mile when faced with a 'proper' soldier!! I'd prefer to have people protecting us who actually WANT to.
