do you think bad parents should have parenting classes?

Children who get into trouble are generally from an unsupervised background. No fault should be laid at the school door because they have little they can actually do to control wayward children. Fortunately they are the minority, but because of their behavior they appear the reverse. Parents should be made responsible for their children until they are aged 16 years and be held accountable for their childrens actions. Yes, parenting classes are a great idea and should be given before the child is 5 years old. Children need rules to live by and, so it seems, do the parents.

I think parenting classes would be a good idea. Im a single parent with 2 boys aged 12 and 14, I work full time and yes it is a struggle. I work in a secondary school so see first hand the parents 'attitude' and you can see where the kids get theirs from. Parents are all 'we will be supportive' when talking to staff but the first sign of trouble blame the school. Its not the schools fault that their kids are out getting drunk all hours or causing trouble. Parents need to wake up to the fact that they are responsible for teaching their kids right from wrong and noone else
