I brought a lcd television from xxxxx 7 weeks ago and when i went to turn it on there was smoke coming out of the back of it. I phoned customer services and was told that i would have to wait 4 days for an engineer to come out and guess what on the day he was due, after endless phone calls to who promised the engineer would be here, he didnt turn up.So the next day i rang them and was told that they would look into why the engineer did not show. After endless phone calls again from myself to they eventually told me that the engineer company that they use were prepared to write off my television without even looking at it and i would have to wait again for them to send me out a letter in the post with a reference number on so i could get a new television from their store.
I have never come across this before and as my television is only 7 weeks old then i thought that due to it catching fire then the store would exchange it as a goodwill gesture but it looks like comet has no sense of goodwill so it is definately a store i will avoid in the future and recomend others do as well.
