its based on the police and womens aid DASSHH risk assessment and calls for a common sense review of the law.
my ex thretened to burn my baby and he can still demand access.
he slit my wrist during my pregnancy
stubbed cigarrettes out on my bump
this cant continue to be acceptable this clearly shows an abusive pattern and i have the scars to prove it.
i had to go into refuge, away from my friends and family.
i had a marach hearing which meant that the police , social services , womens aid and various other agencies had to discuss my welfare and steps to safeguard me from further abuse.
when i finally resettled the police had to "harden" my property from further attack. if that doesnt show clearly that there is a threat i dont know what does. why then is my child not protected by the law.
i know that i am not the first nor last who suffered in this way no the only one facing this issue at the moment.
please sign the petition and put the childs rights before the rights of an abuser
