does anyone at all agree with me on how sorry i am for the mccanns and what they and poor maddie are going through. All i keep reading is nasty reports on how they neglect their children and they deserved it. Everyone makes mistakes, they are human and while their mis judgement cost them their daughter they have to live with that for the rest of their lives without everyone jumping on them . I dont know how they have the courage to get up in the morning and carry on, i guess they have to for the sake of the other two children. I just really prey that maddie is found safe and well but the longer the time goes on its getting doubtful now sadly.

I completely agree with the previous comment. No parent can ever say that they have behaved perfectly all the time. As a mother of four chidren, I know it is unrealistic to imagine that I have always thought everything through when it comes to my childrens' well-being. Whether you take your eyes off them for ten seconds or ten minutes, there is ALWAYS the possibility that something unexpected can happen and we should always remember that. This, by the way, is from twenty years experience, I am now entering the next phase of parenthood, where you worry about them constantly as adults! Perhaps, now is the time for the media to back off a little and allow the McCanns' the time to consider which direction they and the rest of thier family wish to go in an effort to gain some peace perspective and, dare we hope for their sakes. a little normality?

Just to say, I have removed one comment from this section. I appreciate the reader's thoughts but that's life! has the responsibility to make sure anything that appears on the forum is not defamatory to individuals or considered unfair. Ed
