So That's Life has jumped on the Real Women bandwagon, despite the offence that this term causes to naturally thin women such as myself. We are all real women whether size eight or eighteen,I only recently started buying That's Life regularly, now I feel like not bothering again.

im 5ft 8ins and a size 16,
im 5ft 8ins and a size 16, so im overweight at nearly 14 stone, im trying desperately to loose weight but i agree with sheff lass. The people that say real women are just trying to make bigger women feel good about themselves without trying to starve themselves on a diet all the time, but the thing is yes its wrong if a skinny person is starving themself to be that way like some of the models but for the women who are naturally skinny or slim i think its terrible that they are ridiculed, its just jealously! my sister in law in very slim and cant put on weight, she eats like a horse and that infuriates fat people due to jealously, they say well lucky her!! yes it is lucky her. im fat and not happy but i dont go around slagging off skinny people or calling myself a real woman to make myself feel better. we are ALL real women fat, thin, curvey, no boobs, big boobs!! etc learn to love everyones figures whatever the size!!

Real women
Well said blu,the people who talk about real women do not realise the hurt this term causes to naturally thin women or maybe they dont care. One of the overweight, sorry, real women sneers at women who have no boobs or bottom, well that sums me up to a T but there is nothing I can do about it,I have been trying to gain weight since I was about eight without success. I am too old for it to matter now,but throughout my 20s and 30s I struggled to stay above 8 stone (I'm 5'6")and would have given anything for a curvy figure.

real women

Hi Sheff lass,

I'm so sorry if you were offended by our 'real women' feature. We were certainly not saying that anyone of a smaller — or indeed — larger size than the ones on the page were not 'real women.' The point we were trying to make is that the fashion industry is always trying to make us feel there is something wrong unless you look a certain way and have a certain set statistics — in fact, women of ANY size look fabulous because they are not fakes but 'real.'

Hope you continue to enjoy the magazine and we appreciate your comments,

Ed
